I found this shade on Beauty Habit, and I loooooove it. I think if you look at my fave shades, you'll find 100 navys. I'm SO glad someone invented it as a nail color. And this one is great because it went on super smooth without any streaks. Two coats did the trick!

So I was on Amazon and they had this new section of "interesting finds." Lo and behold, this beauty was in the mix so I snapped it up along with 3 others.  This is like a disco ball in a bottle and I love it!

My college roommate gave me this shade when I came over to make Christmas cookies with her kids, so it's got fun memories for me. But it's also just a great holiday color that works all month long. Merry everything!

Julep in Johnny

With Halloween around the corner I decided black is the way to go, and this is a great one. I originally got this shade because my dad's name is John. But now thinking about it, I wonder if it's named Johnny after The Shining? Yeah, that's probably it.

What better color to pick for back to school than a graphite gray? Like a pencil! Do students even use pencils anymore? I dunno. Anyway, I did like this shade very much, but I don't love the matte trend.  I like my nails like I like my apples.  Shiny.

Aurora in 4 Alarm Fire

I got this shade in an Ipsy bag and it sat on my counter for a few months. Decided to give it a whirl for Valentine's Day. And go figure -- it was a bit disappointing, much like VDay. I wish the gel was thicker and the polish was more opaque.

Julep in Erin

You know I love some Julep, but I wasn't crazy about this shade.  I know gray is so chic these days, but depending on the light, my nails just looked sick. (Not in a good way.)

This shade is almost black. Like Darth Vader's soul. I'm not really into Star Wars (and if I was, I'm a fan of the old school variety), but this caught my eye in CVS. I hate being left out of a pop culture sensation. Plus, I hear this is the color Chewbacca uses on his toes.  Good choice!

Sally Hansen in Quick Jeanius

Blue nail polish might be the best beauty invention ever. I love the way it looks, and this little gem is extra special because it's cheap (but doesn't look it). I'm in blue heaven!

Julep in Kay

The Scoop:
Merry (almost) Christmas! I really liked this shade, it's nice for the holidays but you can also wear it to work. Sometimes red gets to be a little too much, you know? This gold is subtle, sophisticated, and hard to tell when it chips.

Essie in Devil's Advocate

I was feeling inspired by the season but I love this shade. There's just something about super dark nail polish that looks edgy and elegant at the same time. When you put the first coat on, you'll see it's plummy, but another coat or two will turn it black.

This is a great shade and you can't beat the price. I chose it because I was looking for something pretty and patriotic.  Mission accomplished!

This is a sparklebomb and I love it. I missed seeing the NYC fireworks this year from my apt because they were on the East River and I'm on the Hudson, but who needs them when I have nails like this?

Michael Kors in Rio de Janiero

The Scoop:
Wearing Michael Kors polish makes me feel fancy. And this one makes me think of the beach at sunset, which is where I wish I was instead of in my apartment glowing in the light of my laptop. This shade does not, however, come with a passport to Rio. Go figure.

I'm wearing this shade because the streets are covered in snow and I'm wishing we could see the pavement again. Also, I didn't love the "silk" finish here (aka: matte), so I added a topcoat.  Like black ice.

This is a great New Years Eve shade -- perfectly shiny for dancing (or watching Downton Abbey) as the ball drops. And it doesn't chip! (Update: It stayed on for a full 10 days -- wow.)

Butter London in Come to Bed Red

The Scoop:
This is a classic red, perfect for all your holiday parties.  Butter is great because it's really glossy straight out of the bottle, but use a top coat anyway. Santa doesn't like chipped nails.
