OPI in I Eat Mainely Lobster

Brand: OPI Nail Lacquer

Shade: I Eat Mainely Lobster
(coral orange color, glossy finish)

Cost: $$

The Scoop:
This shade is a clambake in a bottle (and is more neon IRL than it looks here). It's bright and sunny and you won't get sand in your suit. Only thing is it wasn't shiny enough for me out of the bottle so plan on a topcoat. Think of it as sunscreen!

OPI in Peace & Love & OPI

Brand: OPI Nail Lacquer

Shade: Peace & Love & OPI
(gray, purple & green iridescent color, metallic finish)

Cost: $$

The Scoop:
This is a fun one because it's a different color in every light. The photo doesn't do it justice. Purple in sunlight, green in fluorescent light, and gray pretty much everywhere else -- it's like a mood ring for your nails!

Nicole by OPI in A Phil's Paradise

Brand: Nicole by OPI

Shade: A Phil's Paradise
(charcoal gray color, metallic finish)

Cost: $$

The Scoop:
If it wasn't obvious, this is from the Modern Family Collection.  Phil Dunphy done good with this shade -- it's as edgy as he is nerdy.  Who knew?

Next Shade: MAC in Snob

OPI in Don't Violet Me Down

Brand: OPI Sheet Tints Nail Lacquer

Shade: Don't Violet Me Down
(lavender color, sheer finish)

Cost: $$

The Scoop:
I hate this shade and this concept of sheer tints. I dislike it so much so that I took it off immediately and gave the polish away. No bueno, OPI.

Next Shade: Avon in Seduce Me Strawberry

7 Red Carpet-Ready Manicures

Looking at the Oscar nominees for Best Picture this year, I realized I've actually seen most of them, which is rare for me. Usually, I just root for the one or two films I actually recognize, but this year I'm torn. Too many good ones!

So, I did what any sensible movie-lover would do: I turned to nail polish.

Here are 7 easy nail designs to help us decide who should take that little gold man home. Pick your favorite movies -- and manis -- below.

(semi-sheer cotton candy pink color with metallic finish & pink, red, white glitter with clear finish)
