Brand: Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer
Shades: Dust of Bronze & Mosaic Prison
(bronze brown color with sheer metallic and glitter finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
This is a pretty combo, and this brand is super cheap so splurge and get them both. Then your hands will look extra special when you ask the person sitting next to you at Thanksgiving to pass the cranberry sauce. And yes, I mean the kind from the can. We're being frugal, right?!

Aurora in 4 Alarm Fire
Brand: Aurora Gel Effect Nail Lacquer
Shade: 4 Alarm Fire
(pinky red color, glossy finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
I got this shade in an Ipsy bag and it sat on my counter for a few months. Decided to give it a whirl for Valentine's Day. And go figure -- it was a bit disappointing, much like VDay. I wish the gel was thicker and the polish was more opaque.

Sally Hansen in Quick Jeanius

Cost: $
The Scoop:
Blue nail polish might be the best beauty invention ever. I love the way it looks, and this little gem is extra special because it's cheap (but doesn't look it). I'm in blue heaven!

I got this grapey shade after seeing a similar one on a colleague during a meeting. It looked better on her. But it did dry fast!

Avon in Deluxe Chocolate
Brand: Avon Nailwear Pro+ Nail Enamel
Shade: Deluxe Chocolate
(deep brown color, metallic finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
I never understand how Avon can sell their makeup so inexpensively. Here's another example where their quality is just as good as polishes 3x the price. Definitely some chocolate you won't feel guilty about.

Avon in Midnight Green
Brand: Avon Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel
Shade: Midnight Green
(forest green color, shimmer finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
For the cost, Avon polishes are great. I love deep green as an alternative to my first love, navy blue. I do wish this one lasted longer -- I had to touch it up twice during the week.

Claire's in Snowball
Brand: Claire's Cosmetics Nail Polish
Shade: Snowball
(creamy white color, glossy finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
I know white polish is a trend these days, but I can't get on board. So I added these heart stickers to the middle of my nails and liked it a bit more. They're from Claire's too.

Sephora in Cherries & Cherry Popsicle

Shades: Cherries & Cherry Popsicle

My Easter nails were inspired by cherry Jelly Bellies, my favorite jellybean. This would be cute for a summer picnic too!

Wet N Wild in Sunny Side Up
Shade: Sunny Side Up
(bright orange color, glossy finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
The winter in New York was really horrible, so now that the weather is starting to get a little nicer, I'm pulling out the bright shades. This cheerful one lived up to its promise, it was definitely shiny without a top coat.

H&M in Purple Mist & Prim & Proper
Brand: H&M Nail Polish
Shades: Purple Mist & Prim & Proper
(light lilac color with metallic finish, pink & silver color with glitter finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
I don't shop in H&M very much, but whenever I pop in there, I can't resist the cheap polish by the register. These shades didn't photograph very well, no matter what I tried, but they are light and springy.

Maybelline in Mod Moss
Brand: Maybelline Color Show Limited Edition Vintage Leather
Shade: Mod Moss
(moss green color with iridescent flecks, matte finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
This is an edgy shade with a nice finish. Somehow, it really does look like old leather. Maybelline is fast becoming one of my favorite drugstore brands, though my first love still is (and will always be) Sally Hansen.

Maybelline in Blue Blaze
Brand: Maybelline New York Color Show Holographic Nail Lacquer
Shade: Blue Blaze
(silvery blue color, metallic finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
I really like these little Color Show polishes. For starters, they're really inexpensive and they also come in cool shades. I'm not sure what really made this one "holographic" but it was a nice one for Spring.

Sally Hansen in Lightening & Tweedy

Shades: Lightening & Tweedy
(sunny yellow color with glossy finish & black and white color with textured finish)
Cost: $ & $$
The Scoop:
I was inspired by spring again here, but let's face it, this is really ugly. I thought it would look like a bumble bee. This is my second time trying the fuzzy/feather technique and I think it's safe to say this is a fad that should fade away.

Revlon in Posh

Brand: Revlon Nail Enamel
Shade: Posh

There's probably only one day a year to wear this nail polish and tomorrow is it. May the luck of the Irish be with you!

Ulta in Jaded
Shade: Jaded
(moss green color, metallic finish)
Cost: $
The Scoop:
No matter how I tried, this one photographed horribly. But what I like about Ulta polish is it's good quality and super cheap. Usually you can get these at for 2 for $4. If you bundle the $3.50 off $10 coupon they usually run, you can get a ton of polish for very little green.
