Nails Inc in Sloane Street & Knightsbridge

Brand: Nails Inc. 2 in 1 Pop Art Polish

Shades: Sloane Street & Knightsbridge
(bubble gum pink color with glossy finish & pink and blue confetti matte glitter with clear finish)

Cost: $$$

The Scoop:
Remember last week I wore a shade only suitable for girls 13 and under? Well, chalk another up for the tweens. I will say, this one looks more fun than it is. The pink needs a boost of gloss and the confetti needs to be applied so many times to actually cover your nail. Not worth the time, or money.

Nails Inc in Kensington Square

Brand: Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish

Shade: Kensington Square
(neon orange color, glossy finish)

Cost: $$$

The Scoop:
I'm trying a bunch of at home gel polishes, and when I ordered this, it looked more red than orange. It is, in fact, like a traffic cone. It was pretty shiny, though, went on in just 1 step, stayed put the whole week, and was relatively easy to remove. So, a winner!

Nails Inc. in Trafalgar Square

Shade: Trafalgar Square
(graphite gray color, glossy finish)

Cost: $$$

The Scoop:
Nails Inc is always good for innovative techniques.  I liked this one because of the wavy design the magnet makes when you hold it over your wet nail.  They also have stars, fishnets, and other patterns to try -- it's a super easy way to create your own nail art!

Nails Inc. in Noho

Shade: Noho
(jet black color, textured matte finish)

Cost: $$$

The Scoop:
I think this is a great Halloween shade without being too gimmicky.  The textured effect is cool and looks pretty edgy.  I love Nails Inc. because they always come out with something different. Scare yourself up a bottle, or two.

Nails Inc. in York

Shade: York
(peachy orange and white color, textured finish)

Cost: $$$

The Scoop:
This one isn't really a polish so much as short, thin particles suspended in gel, but isn't the bottle pretty?  It looks like spring.  It's definitely a conversation starter (2 cashiers at Fairway stopped to look at my nails), but it's not really for everyday wear.  Use about 3 coats for full coverage, file off the loose pieces (application is a bit clumpy and rough to the touch), then add a topcoat to protect the "feather" particles.

Welcome to My Medicine Cabinet

Ever been tempted to look in someone's medicine cabinet when using their bathroom?

Well, this is mine.

You'll notice there isn't any medicine here.  Just rows and rows of nail polish.  Look at those beauties!  From Essie to OPI and Sephora to Sally Hansen, the girls are all here.

Clearly, I never get manicures or pedicures.  I like to handle my own business.

Years ago, I went to a local beauty supply store near my hometown in Pine Brook, NJ.  I spent over a hundred bucks on polish.  Crazy, right?  It amounted to about a dozen bottles.  The girl who rang up my order had one, completely non-sarcastic question for me:

“Where is your salon located?”

Um, yeah.  I don't have a salon.

Hello.  My name is Jen.  And I’m addicted to nail polish.

It's true, Jersey Girls love their nails.  I never feel “done” without them.  A peek inside my medicine cabinet makes me happy.  Pretty colors, easy to switch, based on my mood.

Now, just because I’m from Jersey and I like my nails doesn’t mean I’m down with the fakes.  I just say no to stick-on, press-on, glue-on, artificial nails of all kinds.  Just like my boobs, lips, and lashes -- my nails are always au naturel (assuming you agree blue nails exist in the realm of natural).

Anyway, I figured I must have at least 52 bottles -- one for every week of the year -- so I started this blog to share each shade with you.

Enjoy!
