Julep in Isabela

Brand: Julep Nail Color

Shade: Isabella
(neon periwinkle blue color, glossy finish)

Cost: $$$

The Scoop:
I loved this one in the bottle.  On my nails? No bueno. Maybe because they are so stubby and this bright color draws attention to it. Better luck next time...

Avon in Seduce Me Strawberry

Brand: Avon Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel

Shade: Seduce Me Strawberry
(neon pink shade, shimmer finish)

Cost: $

The Scoop:
I've got to say, Avon is cheap as hell and they still manage to put out a good polish.  How do they do it?!

Next Shade: Rimmel London in Riches to Rags

Nails Inc in Kensington Square

Brand: Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish

Shade: Kensington Square
(neon orange color, glossy finish)

Cost: $$$

The Scoop:
I'm trying a bunch of at home gel polishes, and when I ordered this, it looked more red than orange. It is, in fact, like a traffic cone. It was pretty shiny, though, went on in just 1 step, stayed put the whole week, and was relatively easy to remove. So, a winner!

Next Shade: Nailtini in Vintage Fizz

Pixi in Very Violet

Shade: Very Violet
(electric magenta shade, glossy finish)

Cost: $

The Scoop:
Depending on the light, this shade is even darker.  I picked this one up at Target, and it was cheap.  Problem is, it also looked cheap.  Goes on thin, not very shiny.  Plan on a high-gloss top coat to improve the look.

Sephora in Grapefruit

Shade: Grapefruit
(neon coral color with glossy finish, and sheer gold color with micro-glitter finish)

Cost: $$

The Scoop:
This is one loud color.  I'm not sure why they call this scented.  It doesn't smell like anything but nail polish.  And I really dislike these 2-sided bottles -- they're top-heavy when you're painting your nails, you have to be so careful that you don't spill.  I will say, I like the glitter shade but overall, not really a fan.

NCLA Los Angeles in I'm With the Band

Shade: I'm With the Band
(neon coral red color with glossy finish)

Cost: $$$

The Scoop:
Imagine your fingers took a trip to Cali -- that's this shade.  Bright, cheerful, and perfect for summer.  I'm definitely not be cool enough to be with the band, but my nails are!

Next Week's Shade: Marc Jacobs in Petra

LA Splash in Golden Sea Lion

Shade: Golden Sea Lion
(lime green color, metallic finish)

Cost: $

The Scoop:
I don't understand the name of this shade -- it's horrible.  Electric Pea Soup would be better.  Maybe that's why it was in the $1 bargain bin at Bed Bath & Beyond.  I kind of like the color, though.  And so did other people!  At least, I think they did...

Butter London in Macbeth

Shade: Macbeth
(pinky red color, neon finish)

Cost: $$$

The Scoop:
I had a tough time deciding if this shade was red or pink.  Three people I asked said pink, but since Lady Macbeth was trying to wash blood, not watermelon, off her hands, I went with red.  Still, it's an odd one.  And very transparent -- I had to use 4 coats.  Plus it peels off pretty easily, even with a topcoat.  Overall, a disappointment.  I expected better from Butter.

Next Week's Shade: Sally Hansen in Gunmetal
